NPR成立于1970年,节目以新闻及综述为主,是美国国内收听率最高的广播电台,面向美国民众广播。NPR每周和860多个加盟的地方电台一起为大约两千六百万美国人,也就是全国总人口的大约10%,提供广播服务。
